TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The object of the Rural and Remote Health Foundation (the Foundation) is to improve the health of rural, remote and Indigenous Australians.
The Rural and Remote Health Foundation is a separate charitable Fund established and managed by the Board of Rural and Remote Medical Services Ltd to achieve the objects of the Foundation.
The Board will determine where the funds are directed within its services consistent with the object of the Foundation.
The Board will ensure that the Fund is:
Managed in accordance with the obligations under the Charitable Fundraising laws of the respective Australian jurisdictions and in accordance with the obligations under Australian charities and taxation laws;
Cause an independent audited of the Fund to be conducted annually, and a report on contributions and distributions published and submitted to relevant regulatory authorities;
Monitor the Fund to ensure that any distributions are in accordance with the objects for which the Fund was established.
The Board may delegate approval of distributions to the Chief Executive Officer of Rural and Remote Medical Services Ltd under such conditions are the Board deems appropriate.
Without limiting the discretion of the Board to distribute funds for any purposes consistent with the object of the Fund, the Board may approve distribution for the following purposes:
To fund health promotions and preventative strategies in rural, remote and Indigenous communities;
To support rural, remote and Indigenous communities to develop Place-Based Health Plans and strategies to address the social determinants of health;
To fund or subsidise the provision of permanent and locum medical and health services in rural, remote and Indigenous communities;
To fund the purchase and provision of transportation for patients and/or health and medical staff;
To purchase equipment or consumables that support the provision of health and medical services;
To fund the purchase of medical supplies such as free vaccinations or tests for disadvantaged rural, remote and Indigenous persons;
To fund health and wellness programs in schools, aged care facilities and other locations;
To advocate for the health and medical needs of rural, remote and Indigenous people to government and industry;
To fund the promotion of Rural and Remote Medical Services, RARMS Health and the Remote GP Service and any other program of RARMS in the community to raise awareness of services;
To support fundraising to support the objects of the Foundation not to exceed more than 10 percent of total contributions;
Any purpose necessary or incidental to the achievement of the above.
Donations by individuals can be made in the form of one-off donations, regular gifts or bequests.
If a donation is designated to a specific project, the Board will use reasonable endeavours to direct that donation to the designated project but is not obligated to comply with such requests.
Donations of gifts in kind will also be directed as determined by the Board.
The Foundation can provide official receipts for approved donations of $2.00 or more. Donors providing single gifts receive a receipt for each donation and regular gifts receive an annual receipt, unless otherwise requested.
The Foundation accepts anonymous donations but is unable to issue a tax-deductible receipt to the donor in such circumstances.
This website is enabled for online donations using a secure donation server.
However, despite the security on the website, you should be aware that there are risks in transferring information across the Internet.
We record on our fundraising database the donor's name, address, email, telephone, and amount donated.
To seek a donation refund you must contact the Rural and Remote Health Foundation within 14 days of receipt by phone between 9am and 5pm AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time) Monday to Friday or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Any donation, purchase or other transactions made through the website by a user inserting that user’s credit card details is final and not disputable.
Where there has been an unauthorised use of a user’s credit card, and the unauthorised nature of that use is proved on the balance of probabilities, then the donation may be considered for refund.
The Foundation thoroughly considers all requests for a refund and will ensure that genuine errors are corrected, however we are under no obligation to give refunds and the decisions on refunds will be at the Board’s discretion. If you would like to request a refund please provide details of how you made the donation, the amount, the date and the circumstances justifying your request.
If a donation is refunded, the associated tax receipt is no longer valid and should be securely destroyed. Please note it is your responsibility to submit correct receipts to the ATO (Australia Taxation Office).
